This question is about "Merchant of Venice."

1. Antonio is sad for no apparent reason, but nothing makes him happy and he has an irrational and unreasonable melancholy. Not knowing what causes sadness makes him sadder and in addition to being confused, the reader also cannot find out the reason for the sadness.

2. Solanio and Salerio believe that this sadness can have many reasons, mainly reasons related to the heart and business. In that case, they believe that he may be in love or worried about finances.

3. What helps Antonio to improve is to talk to his friends.
