Answer:a)

a) 68%

b) 44%

Step-by-step explanation: a) (51+51)/150 × 100 = 102/150 × 100

= 17/25 × 100

= 68%

Make a histogram, using a bin width of ten, to display the bowling scores for these 31 players: 87, 104, 79, 94, 117, 82, 72, 11
slavikrds [6]

Step-by-step explanation:

Using R, I used the following code to create a histogram:

bowling.scores <- c(87, 104, 79, 94, 117, 82, 72, 116, 105, 95, 88, 93, 109, 119, 75,

data.frame(bowling.scores)

ggplot(data.frame(bowling.scores), aes(x=bowling.scores)) +

 xlim(c(70, 120)) +

First of all, we need all logarithms to have the same base. So, we use the formula

\log_a(b)=\dfrac{\log_c(b)}{\log_c(a)}

To change the second term as follows:

\log_4(x^2)=\dfrac{\log_2(x^2)}{\log_2(4)}=\dfrac{\log_2(x^2)}{2}

Finally, using the property

\log(a^b)=b\log(a)

we have

\dfrac{\log_2(x^2)}{2}=\log_2(x)

So, the equation becomes

\log_2(3x+4)-7\log_2(x)+\log_2(x)=2 \iff \log_2(3x+4)-6\log_2(x)=2

We can now use the formula

\log(a)-\log(b)=\log\left(\dfrac{a}{b}\right)

to write the equation as

\log_2(3x+4)-6\log_2(x)=2 \iff \log_2(3x+4)-\log_2(x^6)=2 \iff \log_2\left(\dfrac{3x+4}{x^6}\right)=2

Now consider both sides as exponents of 2:

\dfrac{3x+4}{x^6}=4 \iff 4x^6-3x-4=0

This equation has no "nice" solution, so I guess the problem is as simplifies as it can be

Assume that y varies directly with x, then solve
VikaD [51]
Well how many 12's are in 24 (forget the negative sing for a moment). Two right? Well that means multiply 4 by 2 and get 8, but where does that negative sign go? Just add it! It makes it so much easier taking it away and then putting it back. That is a trick for this problem. y=-8 while x=-24 Hoped I helped!
