Answer:

The two rules we need to use are:

Sin(a + b) = sin(a)*cos(b) + sin(b)*cos(a)

cos(a + b) = cos(a)*cos(b) - sin(a)*sin(b)

And we also know that:

sin^2(a) + cos^2(a) = 1

To solve the relations, we start with the left side and try to construct the right side.

a) Sin(3*A) = sin (2*A + A) = sin(2*A)*cos(A) + sin(A)*cos(2*A)

sin(A + A)*cos(A) + sin(A)*cos(A + A)

(sin(A)*cos(A) + sin(A)*cos(A))*cos(A) + sin(A)*(cos(A)*cos(A) - sin(A)*sin(A))

sin(A)*cos^2(A) + sin(A)*cos^2(A) + sin(A)*cos^2(A) - sin^3(A)

3*sin(A)*cos^2(A) - sin(A)*sin^2(A)

sin(A)*(3*cos^2(A) - sin^2(A))

Now we can add and subtract 4*sin^3(A)

sin(A)*(3*cos^2(A) - sin^2(A)) + 4*sin^3(A) -  4*sin^3(A)

sin(A)*(3*cos^2(A) + 3*sin^2(A)) - 4*sin^3(A)

sin(A)*3*(cos^2(A) + sin^2(A)) - 4*sin^3(A)

3*sin(A) - 4*sin^3(A)

b) Here we do the same as before:

cos(3*A) = 4*cos^3(A) - 3*cos(A)

We start with:

Cos(2*A + A) =  cos(2*A)*cos(A) - sin(2*A)*sin(A)

= cos(A + A)*cos(A) - sin(A + A)*sin(A)

= (cos(A)*cos(A) - sin(A)*sin(A))*cos(A) - ( sin(A)*cos(A) + sin(A)*cos(A))*sin(A)

= (cos^2(A) - sin^2(A))*cos(A) - sin^2(A)*cos(A) - sin^2(A)*cos(A)

= cos^3(A) - 3*sin^2(A)*cos(A)

=  cos(A)*(cos^2(A) - 3*sin^2(A))

now we subtract and add 4*cos^3(A)

= cos(A)*(cos^2(A) - 3*sin^2(A)) + 4*cos^3(A) - 4*cos^3(A)

= cos(A)*(-3*cos^2(A) - 3*sin^2(A)) + 4*cos^3(A)

= cos(A)*(-3)*(cos^2(A) + sin^2(A)) + 4*cos^3(A)

= -3*cos(A) + 4*cos^3(A)

in the unted states, the height of men are normally distributed with the mean 69 inches and standard deviation 2.8 inches. If 16
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

Probability that their mean height is less than 68 inches is 0.0764.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that in the united states, the height of men are normally distributed with the mean 69 inches and standard deviation 2.8 inches.

Also, 16 men are randomly selected.

<em>Let </em>\bar X<em> = sample mean height</em>

The z-score probability distribution for sample mean is given by;

              Z = \frac{\bar X-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }  ~ N(0,1)

where, \mu = population mean height = 69 inches

            \sigma = population standard deviation = 2.8 inches

            n = sample of men = 16

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is away from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value (area) associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X.

So, probability that the mean height of 16 randomly selected men is less than 68 inches is given by = P(\bar X < 68 inches)

 P(\bar X < 68 inches) = P( \frac{\bar X-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } < \frac{68-69}{\frac{2.8}{\sqrt{16} } } ) = P(Z < -1.43) = 1 - P(Z \leq 1.43)

                                                           = 1 - 0.9236 = 0.0764

<em>Now, in the z table the P(Z  x) or P(Z < x) is given. So, the above probability is calculated by looking at the value of x = 1.43 in the z table which has an area of 0.92364.</em>

Therefore, probability that their mean height is less than 68 inches is 0.0764.

Three oblique pyramids have the same regular square base. Which one has a volume of 15 cubic units if the area of the bases are
deff fn [24]

Answer:

The one which has a height of 3 units. H=3

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, the volume of pyramid is equal to the area of base multiply by the height of pyramid and divide by 3. Writing as a formula it can be expressed as V=(A*H)/3 where V is volume of pyramid, A is area of base and H is the height of pyramid. If V=15 cubic units and A=15 square units, H should be equal to 3 (to be cancelled out by 3. Please look at formula above) in order to make V=15.

cam lobes are on sale at 4 different grocery stores. which store offers the lowest unit rate for cantaloupes in dollars per poun
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

Store 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

1.  $4.50 for 5 pounds

2. $1/5 for 1/3 pounds

3. $4.00 for 5 pounds

Required

Determine the store with the lowest unit rate

To do this, we simply divide the price by the weights in each store

For Store 1:

Unit\ Rate = \frac{\$4.50}{5\ lb}

Unit\ Rate = \$0.9/lb

For Store 2:

Unit\ Rate = \frac{\$1/5}{1/3\ lb}

Unit\ Rate = \$0.6/lb

For Store 3:

Unit\ Rate = \frac{\$4.00}{5\ lb}

Unit\ Rate = \$0.8/lb

<em>Comparing the unit rates of the three stores, we can conclude that store 2 offers the least unit rate</em>
