Genetically Modified Organism, are they really as safe as we think? I think not. GMO is the act of changing the genetics of living organisms there are may harms that can come from this, my biggest concern is the side effects that it may produce. While many say that there are no side effects, the article Here's The Real Reason Why GMOs Are Bad, And Why They May Save Humanity’ by Erik Kobayashi-Solomon states, “DNA strands are cultured in a bacterium and inserted into the host plant’s nucleus using a virus. “Bacterium” and “virus” are not the kinds of things people want associated with their food.” This conveys that the ‘side effects’ of consuming GMO induced products may be right in-front of us, while there are some good bacteria there are more bad bacteria and viruses in the air we can never be too sure if we are allowing more bad bacteria in our bodies than there are supposed to be. Sure it may be natural to have bacteria and viruses in our food but is it really safe to have foods that were modified to have more bacteria and viruses than it is supposed to? Do we really understand and know what may happen if we were to consume those foods? Do we understand that mixing bacterium’s and viruses with others can create a more deadly bacterium which can just be the end of life on earth as we know it? Are we willing to take this chance?

I’m not too good at writing paragraphs with my own evidence but I hope this was good enough :)

Which of the following is a covalent compound?
V125BC [204]

Answer:

Water is a covalent compound.

Explanation:

covalent compounds are individual molecules characterized by the sharing of electrons between two or more atoms. Two atoms with similar electronegativity will not exchange an electron from their outermost shell; the atoms instead share electrons so that their valence electron shell is filled.

Example:

Examples of compounds that contain only covalent bonds are methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), Water (H2O) and iodine monobromide (IBr).

Properties:

1. At room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure, covalent compounds may exist as a solid, a liquid, or a gas.

2. Covalent compounds do not exhibit any electrical conductivity, either in pure form or when dissolved in water.

3. Covalent compounds have lower melting and boiling points.
