who do you think garrison is referring to when he states that he is aware that many object to the severity of his language?
Igoryamba

Garrison is referring to the Liberator

Explanation:

William Lloyd Garrison said ,I'll be quite as harsh as reality and as intransigent as justice. I do not want to think, talk or write moderately on this topic.

No! no! Tell a man which house is still on fire and give him a mild warning; tell him to save his wife reasonably from the hand of the ravener; ask the mother to slowly extract her child from the fire into that he fell.

I'm in earnest—-I'm not going to make a mistake—-I'm not going to excuse—-I'm not going to withdraw a single inch—and I'm going to be here.

The complacency of the citizens is enough to spring from each statue and hasten the dead to rise.

NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!
vovangra [49]

Answer:

The phrase is referring to the power struggle going on between the President and the Congress. If the conflict is not resolved it might come down to the voters.

Explanation:

The way the government works is by a system of checks and balances. This means that power is divided into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. This system allows each branch to keep the others in check. Clashed and power struggles between the branches is not something new, but the recent issues are really putting the system to the test.

Currently the system is in crisis because the Trump administration is at odds with Congress. There are several alternatives for the situation to be resolved, but some, like John Fortier, suggest that it should be decided by the voters. That's why he says, "The people can speak. The people can decide if the President is right or Congress is right."

Why is world war 1 often considered a prime example of total war?
Paha777 [63]
World War One, or the Great War, is often considered a prime example of total war for a number of reasons. First off, let us examine what the meaning of "Total War" actually means. Total War can be defined as a war that involves nearly everyone in the countries involved, not just soldiers and politicians. Citizens namely: the old, the weak, children, women, injured, etc. In WW1 women and children were grabbed in the streets and forced to work in factories to assemble and create war machines. Merchant ships were torpedoed and sunk, cities bombed, and set on fire - all in the name of terrorizing the people of the country and waning down their public opinion of the war. Countries in WW1 needed the help of all of their citizens to fight in such a global conflict, so the governments would take over almost all of the industry and redirect it towards the war effort. Lastly, in the case of WW1 by 1915 (a year into the war) no country was attempting to gain land, power, or anything else of that nature. Instead, their sole goal was to survive, which meant the total unconditional destruction and surrender of the opposing side. Therefore, total warfare.
