Fences: At the opening of Act I, Scene 2, Rose is hanging up clothes in the early morning, humming and singing to herself. Her s

Bono observes that Rose wants the fence in order to keep those she love in

Rose also shows that she wants the fence as a source of protector,she shows this by her song.

Troy makes some statements in the book that makes people believe he uses the fence to keep MR. death away,he uses it to demarcate what belongs to him and those on his side. Eg: when he sends Cory out,he tells Cory that his things would be on the other side of the fence.
