Biology

Humans are increasingly burning fossil fuels, consequently there are more carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, we take part in deforestation (where trees are cut down), meaning once again CO2 levels increase.
Explanation:
Cutting down trees and overharvesting plants means less photosynthesis occurs, subsequently, less oxygen is being release and less Co2 levels are being absorbed. Overall, human activity causes more carbon emissions.

How do an enzyme and substrate to one another? what is the lock and key model of enzyme function?
alisha [4.7K]
The lock and key model is where the substrate has a specific shape which can fit into the specific shape of the active site of the enzyme, just like how a key has a specific shape which can fit into a specific lock.

In other words, the substrate is complementary (same shape) to a specific enzyme, so the substrate can bind/fit to the enzyme.
