Answer: Hence, Mean height of the girls is: 1.48

Step-by-step explanation: It is given that:

in a class of 32 students .

the mean height of 14 boys is 1.56 and the mean height of all 32 students is 1.515.

Since there are 14 boys in a class.

So, number of girls is equal to (32-14)=18.

The mean height of 14 boys is 1.56.

Hence the sum of height of 14 boys is= 1.56×14=21.84

Similarly mean height of 32 students is 1.515.

Hence, sum of height of 32 students=1.515×32=48.48.

Let x denote the mean height of 18 girls.

Hence, sum of height of 18 girls is: 18 x.

Now,

18x+21.84=48.48

( since sum of height of girls and boys is equal to the sum of height of all the students)

so, 18x=48.48-21.84

18 x=26.64

Hence, x=1.48

Hence, Mean height of the girls is: 1.48
