Answer:

Williams was not absolving himself of the crimes he committed in the past, rather he was referring to his new status and state of having repented, being redeemed, and now being crime free.

Explanation:

Stanley Williams, according to the passage was a notorious gang member and leader who formed the Cribs a very dangerous group that harassed the people of South Central, Watt, and Compton. He went to juvenile prison in 1969 for stealing a car. In 1979, he was sentenced to death after he was convicted on four counts of murder.

Williams retraced his steps in 1993, he wrote books for children, and generally changed for good. In saying that he was innocent, he was referring to his new state of being redeemed from all the crimes he had committed.

How do Uncle Carlos and Mav disagree about what happened to Khalil? chapter 4 The Hate U Give
kondaur [170]

Answer:

Uncle Carlos believes that the policeman did not kill Khalil for racism, but because he was a drug dealer. Mav, on the other hand, believes that Khalil was a victim of racism, since he was not armed, carrying drugs or weapons at the time he was murdered.

Explanation:

Khalil. a black boy, was killed in a police approach while picking up a hairbrush in his car. The policeman hit Khalil with several shots, and Khalil posed no threat.

Uncle Carlos, a black policeman, does not believe that the policeman was acting out of racism, since Khalil disobeyed him and was a boy who, in fact, was involved in the drug tafico. However, Mav knows that Khalil was not on drugs or weapons at the time and that he suffered abuse of police authority, as well as racism.

When did the dodo bird get extinct? What was the main thing about it? Fun fact and why is it scary to you?
larisa [96]

Answer:

Over-harvesting of the birds, combined with habitat loss and a losing competition with the newly introduced animals, was too much for the dodos to survive. The last dodo was killed in 1681, and the species was lost forever to extinction.

Dodo birds were flightless birds that were gray in color, about 3 feet tall, and weighed 22-40 pounds. The dodo bird lived on the island of Mauritius. They had large hooked beaks. They were flightless birds because they really did not have any predators to fly away from on the island.

The dodo may instead have used its large, hooked beak in territorial disputes. Since Mauritius receives more rainfall and has less seasonal variation than Rodrigues, which would have affected the availability of resources on the island, the dodo would have less reason to evolve aggressive territorial behaviour.
