et up 2 equations to solve for 2 unknowns. Let A = Ama’s age and K = Kofi’s age.

So 3A=K+4 1st equation or

3A - K = 4 Moved unknown K to left of = sign.

A+3+K+3=30 2nd equation, next move numeric values to right of = sign.

A + K = 24 Add to 1st equation to eliminate K from the equation

3A - K = 4 Copied from above, now add.

4A = 28 Divide by 4

A = 7 This is Ama’s age. Substitute 7 for A in equations A + K = 24

7 + K = 24 subtract 7

K = 17 This is Kofi’s age.

AT&T has a family plan of four lines for $125 and additional lines are $15 each per month. If Jason wants to spend at most $
denis-greek [22]

Given:

Cost of four lines = $125

Cost of each additional line = $15

Jason wants to spend at most $200 per month on cell phone expenses.

To find:

The inequality for the given situation.

Solution:

Let x be the number of additional line.

Cost of one additional line = $15

Cost of x additional line = \$15x

Total cost = Fixed cost + Addition cost

                = 125+15x

It is given that Jason wants to spend at most $200 per month on cell phone expenses. It means the total cost must be less than or equal to 200.

125+15x\leq 200

Therefore, the correct option is C.

Estimate the solution to the following system of equations by graphing.
Basile [38]

Answer:

Is one of them supposed to by x?

Step-by-step explanation:

6x- y = 11

-4x + 5y = 8

With a system of equations, you need to solve for one variable first and the substitute to find the other variables.  y is easier to solve for.

6x - y =11  Subtract 6x to both sides.

-y = -6x +11  Multiply by -1 on both sides

y  = 6x - 11

We now subsitute y with 6x - 11 in the other equation.

-4x + 5y = 8

-4x + 5(6x-11) = 8

-4x +30x -55 =8

26x = 63

x = 63/26

and now we subsitute this to solve for actual y.

y= 6x -11

y= 6*(63/26)-11
