Answer:

Literacy enables:

 • Documenting knowledge and history
 • Understanding more complex ideas
 • Developing all the aspects of our education
 • Team and group work and development

Explanation:

Literacy is the ability of reading and writing. It is necessary for the development of society as well as for individual development because:

 • A society that is not literate can’t document anything. This means, everything is based only on oral knowledge and history, which can’t be documented for later generations and therefore can’t progress from what is currently in the head of the one particular person. While people can orally share that knowledge, it is, like all our memories, temporary, insecure, and limited.

 • Literacy is required to understand any more complex tasks than what is here and now. Literacy is not only basic reading and writing of the alphabet but understanding complex ideas and decoding the concepts. If we need to do anything that requires more time learning (which is any of the university requires professions, for example), we depend on the ability to read, write, and note the progress.

 • Language is not the only thing depending on literacy – all the aspects of education depend on the ability to read and write. There is no development in knowledge and education of the individual who is not literate.

 • Literacy also enables better teamwork and group development. If people can write down their thoughts, ideas, concepts, etc, and others can read it, edit, and add up, it can seriously benefit the group dynamics and lead to group inventions. The sharing of written concepts and ideas is one of the keys to development.

ikadub [295]

Integrity vs despair is the eighth and last stage of Erik Erikson's scenic theory of psychosocial development that includes evaluation of life and choices in everything that has been done, in things enjoyed, in failed plans, etc.

Erikson's theory proposes that individuals go through eight distinctive phases of development as they progress and change through life.

 • In the integrity vs despair stage, the conflict focuses on debating whether or not the individual has led a good life.

 • People review the life they have led and come away with a sense of realization in a life well lived or a sense of disappointment at a life wasted.

Therefore, we can conclude that the last stage of Erik Erikson's Theory of Psychosocial Development is integrity vs despair that appears from late adulthood, and until death.
