Explain how transport and deposition affect the different landforms that occur along the coast?

Answer:

Deposition occurs when the sea has less energy, eg in sheltered bays . Material that has been eroded from the coast is transported by the sea and later put down. Longshore drift is a process of transportation that shifts eroded material along the coastline. Swash carries sediment up the beach at an angle.

According to the rank-size rule, which of the following is typically true of higher-order services, such as hospitals with a lar
lesya692 [45]

Answer: They have larger ranges and thresholds.

Explanation: The rank-size rule defines range as the longest distance that a customer will travel to purchase a good or service. Threshold is the minimum market needed to support the supply of a product or service. It is assumed that customers which travel longer distances to purchase a higher-order good or service, and a provider of such goods and services will require a larger customer base to make a profit. Thus, higher-order services have larger ranges and thresholds.

What are the 5 main ways of assessing water quality?
marta [7]

Antidegradation, designated uses, and water quality criteria make up the three parts of water quality standards. The level of water quality required to sustain a certain designated use is represented by water quality criteria.

A probe that can record data at a single moment in time or logged at regular intervals over a long period of time can be used to assess water quality. Water samples can also be taken for laboratory examination. Information on water quality is used by the Department of Water to support decisions regarding the management of water resources. Certain toxins in our water might cause health concerns, such as neurological diseases, reproductive troubles, and gastrointestinal illnesses. People with low immune systems, infants, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and pregnant women may be particularly susceptible to sickness. A measure of the acceptability of water for a specific application based on chosen physical, chemical, and biological qualities is known as water quality. One of the most crucial indicators of the water quality in streams, rivers, and lakes is dissolved oxygen, or DO. It is an important indicator of water pollution [10]. The greater the water quality, the higher the dissolved oxygen concentration. Oxygen is particularly temperature-sensitive and only mildly soluble in water. Numerous elements, including precipitation, climate, soil type, vegetation, geology, flow conditions, ground water, and human activities, have an impact on water quality. The point sources from businesses and municipalities pose the most risk to the quality of the water. The main causes of water pollution are bacteria, viruses, parasites, insecticides, pharmaceuticals, plastics, feces, radioactive materials, fertilizers, and pesticides. These compounds are frequently invisible contaminants since they do not always alter the colour of the water.

Which type of landform develops at plate boundaries where one oceanic plate descends beneath another?
Llana [10]

The answer is B. In a destructive plate boundary, the descending plate, usually the oceanic plate begins to melt as it descends below into the mantle. This forms magma that rises and erupts onto the overlying continental plate through fissures. This volcanic activity is responsible for geographical features such as the volcanic island arc, which lies parallel to the subduction zone.
