The value of n.

Solution:

The formula of standard error is:

$SE=\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}$

Where, SE is standard error ,  $\sigma$ is population standard deviation and n is the total number of elements.

Substituting $SE=4,\sigma=16$ in the above formula, we get

$4=\dfrac{16}{\sqrt{n}}$

$\sqrt{n}=\dfrac{16}{4}$

$\sqrt{n}=4$

Taking square on both sides, we get

$n=4^2$

$n=16$

Therefore, the value of n is 16.
