I have an informative essay to write, I'm writing about Domestic Violence Against Children. But I don't know how to start the essay. this costs half of my mark.

You can start the essay by stating the claim, then providing some background to the topic, such as information describing the rates of violent households in your respective country. In the later paragraphs, you can list possible solutions, and what people are currently doing about it.
