Compare and contrast passive transport, active transport, and osmosis

Biology

Answer:

Passive transport moves molecules and ions from a higher concentration to a lower concentration without any energy while active transport does the same thing only it uses energy. Osmosis deals with the net movement of solvent molecules through a membrane with a higher solute concentration. Osmosis and active transport both work together, while osmosis does its own movement the active transport moves the dissolved solutes across a membrane against a concentration gradient.

Active transport and passive transport are almost the same they function the same only one doesn't require energy while the other one does. Hence why active transport and osmosis work well together it's because of the energy that helps transport dissolved solutes.

Hope this helped :)

Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a membrane.

Active transport is the movement of molecules form an are of low concentration to and area of high concentration.

Passive transport is the movement of molecules form an area of big concentration to an area of low concentration.

Osmosis, Active transport and passive transport are similar in that they are about the process of moving molecules form one area to another. They are different in that they all move the molecules to different areas and osmosis is the movement of water molecules only where as the others may move the same molecule at times.

Hope this was right :)

Discuss how a coal seam might be used as a key bed.
Sever21 [200]
Coal seams are far deep underground to be considered for opencast minings. These coal seams require underground mining. Since it is too deep underground, it can be used for mapping and correlation of sedimentary rocks or as a key bed.

The overall goal of IPM is to reduce the environmental and health risks of pesticides within social and economic constraints.

Fix: The scope of IPM implementation will continue to change greatly in the future. What began as limited approaches to promote integration of control methods for key pests and provide guidelines for decisions regarding pesticide applications is evolving to an ecologically-based systems approach.
