There is many reason, one way they could've been worried about is if the
new settlers would make war or take their land and food.
Another way is that they could've cause the Mexican to come of their land.

General Washington chose to cross an ice-chocked Delaware River winter’s night because his purpose was to make a surprise attack on a Hessian garrison which consists of 1,400 soldiers located in and around Trenton, New Jersey. Washington had hoped that a fast victory in Trenton would boost morale in his army and encourage additional men to join Continentals rank in the coming new year.
A lot of things did, in various places around the world. The events that jump out in my mind when those dates are mentioned are these:
<u>May 14th, 1948:</u>
The provisional government of the portion of the British Mandate for Palestine that was designated by the UN partition as reserved for Jewish administration declared that it was becoming a free and independent sovereign nation called Israel.
<u>May 15th, 1948:</u>
The massed armies of Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq rolled into Israel with big signs on the front of their tanks that read "Oh No You're Not !" .
