Determine if the lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither 10x+5y=-5 and y=-2x+6
Ksenya-84 [330]
If they are parallel they will have the same slope , m

So in y = mx + c, if there are two equations which both have the same m value they will be parallel.
If the lines are perpendicular they'll have slopes like this: 1/2 to -2/1 - where they flip and a negative gets added.

In the equations: 10x + 5y = -5 , and y = -2x + 6
We can rearrange 10x + 5y = -5 to be in the form y = mx + c
10x + 5y = -5
5y = -5 - 10x
y = -1 - 2x
y = -2x - 1

Since y = -2x - 1 and y = -2x + 6 both have the same slope of -2 they are parallel!

Step-by-step explanation:

Write an equation to find the number of each type of ticket they should sell. Let "x" be # of adult tickets; Let "y" be # of student tickets: Value Equation: 5x+3y=450- b. Graph your equation.y = (-5/3)x+150

c. Use your graph to find two different combinations of tickets sold. I'll leave that to you.

Please explain your answer as well, THANKS!!!

Answer:

11,232,000

Step-by-step explanation:

The key to this problem is knowing "repetition is NOT ALLOWED".

For the first 3 letters slot:

For the 1st slot, we can pick any of the 26 alphabets

For the 2nd slot, we can pick any of the 25 remaining alphabets (since 1 is already taken)

For the 3rd slot, we can pick any of the 24 remaining letters (since 2 is already taken)

For the three digits slot:

For the 1st slot, we can pick any one of the 10 digits

For the 2nd slot, we can pick any one of the 9 digits left, since 1 is taken already

For the 3rd slot, we can pick any one of the 8 digits left, since 2 is already taken

The number of license plates, thus, would be all of these multiplied together:

26 * 25 * 24 * 10 * 9 * 8 = 11,232,000
