Ross's Brigade was the most famous regiment from Texas during the Civil War and it was known for it's dependable soldiers who were otherwise described as rowdy, undisciplined and brash.
It was formed on the 23rd of October 1862 and was eventually able to win a number of major skirmishes and battles.
By the end of the war, many of the former members set up a Ross Brigade Association to help one another in the restoration period.
