Given csc(A) = 65/16 and that angle A is in Quadrant I, find the exact value of sec A in simplest radical form using a rational
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

secA = \frac{65}{63}

Step-by-step explanation:

cscA = \frac{65}{16} = \frac{hypotenuse}{opposite}

This is a right triangle with hypotenuse = 65, opposite = 16 and

adjacent = \sqrt{65^2-16^2} = 63

Then

secA = \frac{hypotenuse}{adjacent} = \frac{65}{63}

4. A company found that its monthly profit, P, is
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

11

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok so we aren't looking to maximize profits which is equivalent to finding the vertex of the parabola.

But we want to know what is the highest number of x so that our we aren't losing money.  We aren't losing money when our profit is 0.

So we are asked to solve P(x)=0 for x and take the highest x of that equation.

P(x)=0

-10x^2+120x-150=0

I'm going to divide both sides by -10 to make the numbers easier to work with later.

x^2-12x+15=0

I'm going to use the quadratic formula.

x^2-12x+15=0 when compared to ax^2+bx+c=0 gives us a=1,b=-12,c=15.

We are going to plug this into our quadratic formula:

x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}.

x=\frac{12\pm \sqrt{(-12)^2-4(1)(15)}}{2(1)}

x=\frac{12\pm \sqrt{144-60}}{2}

x=\frac{12\pm \sqrt{84}}{2}

x=\frac{12}{2} \pm \frac{\sqrt{84}}{2}

x=6 \pm \frac{\sqrt{84}}{2}

I'm ready to put this into my calculator.

The one with the plus gives me 10.5826 approximately.

The one with the minus gives me 1.4174 approximately.

The 10.5826 is the higher number.

So about 11 dollars.

The legs of a right triangle are 4 units and 7 units long. to the nearest whole number, what is the length of the hypotenuse? 8
Nitella [24]
Hypotenuse = √(4^2 + 7^2) = √(16+49) = √(65) = 8.0622.

So the correct answer to the nearest whole number is 8 units.

Suppose you work for a political organization and you are interested in hearing how the residents of New York State feel about a
Pani-rosa [81]

Since the state is broken up into counties, and each county subdivided into precincts, this provides a natural way to form cluster samples.

If the precinct populations are too large, then you can further subdivide based on household or building residence. In other words, you can randomly select a building and consider that a separate cluster. All residents of that building would be part of the cluster.

In cluster sampling, the idea is that whichever clusters you select, you survey every person who resides in that cluster. So naturally you need to be careful not to go overboard.
