People who migrated West, regardless of whether they were immigrants, were most often motivated by
Anton [14]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. a desire to better their economic situations.

Explanation:

While religious and social persecution was the motivation for early puritans, it was not the main motivation for a majority of immigrants.

For most Europeans, either from Western Industrialized countries or Eastern European, the biggest motivation was to simply make money and improve their financial conditions.

For the immigrants who were moving in the newly acquired western territories, the motivation was the same, to make money in new towns and villages where there was a need for workforce.
