Check the picture below, that'd be a cube, all equal sides so 6 squares really, its lateral or sides section are just the squares at front, back, left, right.

if say, one side is hmm "s" units long, the area of just one square is s*s or s², and the area of those four lateral squares will just be 4(s²), or 4s² then.

now, we know the lateral area is 9 cm², namely 9 = 4s², thus

\bf 9=4s^2\implies \cfrac{9}{4}=s^2\implies \sqrt{\cfrac{9}{4}}=s\implies \cfrac{\sqrt{9}}{\sqrt{4}}=s\implies \cfrac{3}{2}=s

and surely you know how much that is.

The graph shows two lines, A and B.
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer with explanation:

<u>Part A: </u>

One solution.

The number of points of intersection represents the number of solutions. Since the two lines only intersect at one point, there is only one solution.

<u>Part B:</u>

(3, 4)

The point(s) of intersection marks the solution(s) to the lines. Since lines A and B intersect at the point (3, 4), the solution to the equation of their lines is (3, 4), or x=3, y=4, as coordinates are written as (x, y).

An individual who has automobile insurance from a certain company is randomly selected. Let Y be the number of mov- ing violatio
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

a) E(Y) = \sum_{i=1}^n Y_i P(Y_i)

And replacing we got:

E(Y) =0*0.60 +1*0.25 +2*0.1 +3*0.05 = 0.60

b) E(Y^2) =0^2*0.60 +1^2*0.25 +2^2*0.1 +3^2*0.05 = 1.1

And then the expected value would be:

E(100Y^2) = 100*1.1= 110

Step-by-step explanation:

We assume the following distribution given:

Y       0       1        2        3

P(Y) 0.60 0.25  0.10  0.05

Part a

We can find the expected value with this formula:

E(Y) = \sum_{i=1}^n Y_i P(Y_i)

And replacing we got:

E(Y) =0*0.60 +1*0.25 +2*0.1 +3*0.05 = 0.60

Part b

If we want to find the expected value of 100 Y^2 we need to find the expected value of Y^2 and we have:

E(Y^2) = \sum_{i=1}^n Y^2_i P(Y_i)

And replacing we got:

E(Y^2) =0^2*0.60 +1^2*0.25 +2^2*0.1 +3^2*0.05 = 1.1

And then the expected value would be:

E(100Y^2) = 100*1.1= 110

Usimov [2.4K]

Step-by-step explanation:

∑k=150(3k+2)

First find a1 and a50 :

a1=3(1)+2=5a20=3(50)+2=152

Then find the sum:

Sk=k(a1 + ak)2S50=50(5 + 152)2=3925
