In a society ruled with the idea of divine right, what would cause people not to question the government?
Mkey [24]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Divine right is the idea that a ruler deserves to govern because God or some other higher power said so or appointed that person to rule.

This is how many monarchs like Louis XIV of France tightened his grip on the French Kingdom. Before his reign, the nobility often disagreed with the central authority of the monarch. However, with Louis XIV, the monarch wasn't simply a man in a crown, but a ruler appointed by God himself- by extension, the King is God's will. He became known as the Sun King- they all revolved around him.

Therefore, if you went against the King's will, you go against God's will.

Obviously, this only works in religious countries, which 17th century France certainly was. On the contrary, in that same time period, The Dutch Republic, which was a leading country in religious tolerance and secularism, had no divine ruler, instead using a federal republican system.

In the years after the Civil War, the population of New York City tripled. What can you infer about why there was such a large i
maria [59]
Your two choices (after using process of elimination) are A and B. The answer is more likely A than B. This is because, after the civil war there was an abundance of unemployed people who probably preferred not to work in the south anymore, so they migrated north and many landed in New York. If I had to guess it was because it was a port city but there were many other things as well.
Hope this helps.
