frosja888 [35]

Answer:

x=-15

Step-by-step explanation:

Change 2 to a denominator of 4 2x4=8

1/12x+8/4=3/4 (take away 8/4)

A car passes a landmark on a highway traveling at a constant rate of 45 kilometers per hour. One hour later, a second car passes
vazorg [7]

A car passes a landmark on a highway traveling at a constant rate of 45 kilometers per hour.

Let t be the time taken by second car

So t+1 is the time taken by first car

Distance = speed * time

Distance traveled by first car = 45 * (t+1)

second car passes the same landmark traveling in the same direction at 65 kilometers per hour

Distance traveled by second  car = 65 * (t)

When second car overtakes the first car then their distance are same

65 t = 45(t+1)

65t = 45t + 45

Subtract 45 t from both sides

20t = 45

Divide both sides by 20

so t = \frac{45}{20}=\frac{9}{4}=2.25

It took 2.25 hours for the second car to overtake first car

11. Little Sally Walker has a choice between going to an in-state college where she would pay
nalin [4]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets calculate first for in state college

yearly tuition fees = $3,500

monthly living expense = $700

one year has 12 months so yearly living expense =$700 * 12 = $8,400

Yearly expense of the in state college = yearly tuition fees ($3,500 )+ yearly living expense($8,400)   = $3,500 + $8,400  = $11,900

____________________________________________________

Lets calculate first for  out of state college

yearly tuition fees = $6,000

monthly living expense = $400

one year has 12 months so yearly living expense =$400 * 12 = $4,800

Yearly expense of the out of state college = yearly tuition fees ($3,500 )+ yearly living expense($8,400)   = $6,000 + $4,800  = $10,800

A teacher with 10 students has 30 lesson times available. She will teach exactly one of her students during each lesson time. Ho
natka813 [3]

There are \frac{30!}{(3!)^{10} } ways for the teacher to decide which student she will teach during each lesson time if she must teach each student exactly 3 times. Here, "!" represents the factorial.

A number's factorial is the result of multiplying the integer by each natural number below it. Factorial can be symbolized by the letter "!". Thus, n factorial is denoted by n! and is the result of the first n natural numbers.

A whole number's "n" factororial is the sum of that number and each whole number up to one.

When a question asks you to determine how many different ways you can arrange or order a given number of items, you use a factorial.
