What was the Haitian Revolution and how did it affect the United States?

Answer:

The Haitian revolution came to North American shores in the form of a refugee crisis. In 1793, competing factions battled for control of the then-capital of St. Domingue, Cap-Français (now Cap-Haïtien.) The fighting and ensuing fire destroyed much of the capital, and refugees piled into ships anchored in the harbor. The Haitian Revolution and the subsequent emancipation of Haiti as an independent state provoked mixed reactions in the United States. This led to uneasiness in the US, instilling fears of racial instability on its own soil and possible problems with foreign relations and trade between the two countries.

1. One historian argues the French and Indian War directly resulted in the events that started the American Revolution. (1)Write
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

The French and Indian War directly influenced the subsequent American Revolution. This war, fought between 1756 and 1763, was the North American scenario of the Seven Years' War, which took place in Europe and in which France and Great Britain faced each other.

In America, the French were supported by various native tribes, and the battle territory was the Ohio River Valley. Both powers disputed the colonial territories of the North American continent, and in 1763, with the British victory, Canada became part of the British Empire. Furthermore, the French threat to the Thirteen Colonies was neutralized.

Although the colonists had been the main combatants, the British decided that the expenses of the war should be covered by the colonies themselves and not by Great Britain, since these had benefited from the defeat of France, so the Parliament passed a series of laws imposing taxes and fees on the colonies, which had no legislative representation in London. This led to a series of protests and mobilizations seeking to roll back these measures, but they were not heard.

This situation worsened with the Boston Tea Party and the subsequent sanction of the Coercitive Acts, until in 1775, in the midst of the British occupation of Boston, the American Revolutionary War began.

Which statement best compares attitudes of the north and south during the civil war
vladimir2022 [97]

North .  The northern soil and climate favored smaller farmsteads rather than large plantations. Industry flourished, fueled by more abundant natural resources than in the South, and many large cities were established (New York was the largest city with more than 800,000 inhabitants). By 1860, one quarter of all Northerners lived in urban areas. Between 1800 and 1860, the percentage of laborers working in agricultural pursuits dropped drastically from 70% to only 40%. Slavery had died out, replaced in the cities and factories by immigrant labor from Europe. In fact an overwhelming majority of immigrants, seven out of every eight, settled in the North rather than the South. Transportation was easier in the North, which boasted more than two-thirds of the railroad tracks in the country and the economy was on an upswing.  South .   The fertile soil and warm climate of the South made it ideal for large-scale farms and crops like tobacco and cotton. Because agriculture was so profitable few Southerners saw a need for industrial development. Eighty percent of the labor force worked on the farm. Although two-thirds of Southerners owned no slaves at all, by 1860 the South's "peculiar institution" was inextricably tied to the region's economy and culture. In fact, there were almost as many blacks - but slaves and free - in the South as there were whites (4 million blacks and 5.5 million whites). There were no large cities aside from New Orleans, and most of the ones that did exist were located on rivers and coasts as shipping ports to send agricultural produce to European or Northern destinations.

Only one-tenth of Southerners lived in urban areas and transportation between cities was difficult, except by water.  Only 35% of the nation's train tracks were located in the South. Also, in 1860, the South's agricultural economy was beginning to stall while the Northern manufacturers were experiencing a boom.   The economic differences between the North and South contributed to the rise of regional populations with contrasting values and visions for the future.

How did english revolution inspire the american revolution
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

English Civil War history influenced New England before the American Revolution. English history influenced the thinking of American colonials, so that Americans in the 1700’s repeated the same arguments that Englishmen used against King Charles I and his use of taxation and an army in the 1600’s.
