Use the Pythagorean theorem

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a^2 + 15^2 = 25^2

a^2 + 225 = 625

a^2 = 400

a = 20

Answer: 20 cm

Hope this helps!!

Explain the order in which you should compute the operations in the expression below.
Reptile [31]

1. You would divide the 33/3 first to get 11

2. Then you would add 1 to that answer to get 12

3. Then you would subtract 2^2 from that to get 8

Your answer would be 8.

Jenna drew irregular quadrilateral ABCD inscribed in circle P. She knows that: m∠3=2⋅m∠1, and m∠2=2⋅m∠4, and m∠2+m∠3=360°. What
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

The generalisation she can make from her work is that the other two angles of the quadrilateral are supplementary i.e their sum is 180°

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following from what she knows

m∠3=2⋅m∠1... 1

m∠2=2⋅m∠4 ... 2

m∠2+m∠3=360 ... 3

From what is given, we can substitute equation 1 and 2 into equation 3 as shown:

From 3:

m∠2+m∠3=360

Substituting 1 and 2 we will have:

2⋅m∠4 + 2⋅m∠1 = 360

Factor out 2 from the left hand side of the equation

2(m∠4+m∠1) = 360

Divide both sides by 2

2(m∠4+m∠1)/2 = 360/2

m∠4+m∠1 = 180°

Since the sum of two supplementary angles is 180°, hence the generalisation she can make from her work is that the other two angles of the quadrilateral are supplementary i.e their sum is 180°

I need help finding the domain and range, I already know is not a function
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

Domain: [-4, 4]

Range: [-3, 5]

Function? No

Step-by-step explanation:

Domain is all x-values that can be inputted in the graph that returns an output.

Range is all y-values that are outputted when <em>x</em> is inputted.

A function has to pass the Vertical Line Test.

Which number produces an irrational number when multiplied by 1/3
MArishka [77]

We can simply observe that.

  1. 0.777... is rational, because it is a number with infinite but repeating decimal part.
  2. 1/3 is rational, because it's the division between two integers
  3. -\sqrt{16}=-4, so this is rational as well.

Since the product of two rational numbers is always rational, we have that

0.\bar{7}\cdot \dfrac{1}{3},\quad \dfrac{1}{3}\cdot \dfrac{1}{3},\quad -4\cdot \dfrac{1}{3}

are all rationals, since they are the product of two rationals.

On the other hand, we have

\sqrt{27}=\sqrt{9\cdot 3}=3\sqrt{3}

and thus

3\sqrt{3}\cdot \dfrac{1}{3}=\sqrt{3}

which is irrational.
