Answer:

Acceleration, a = -0.5m/s² West

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Initial velocity = 15m/s²

Final velocity = 5m/s²

Time = 20 secs

To find the acceleration

In physics, acceleration can be defined as the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time.

This simply means that, acceleration is given by the subtraction of initial velocity from the final velocity all over time.

Hence, if we subtract the initial velocity from the final velocity and divide that by the time, we can calculate an object’s acceleration.

Mathematically, acceleration is given by the equation;

Acceleration (a) = \frac{final \; velocity - initial \; velocity}{time}

a = \frac{v - u}{t}

Where,

a is acceleration measured in ms^{-2}

v and u is final and initial velocity respectively, measured in ms^{-1}

t is time measured in seconds.

Substituting into the equation, we have

Acceleration, a = (5 - 15)20

Acceleration, a = -10/20

Acceleration, a = -0.5m/s²

Therefore, the train is decelerating at a rate of -0.2m/s²

Why is it important to keep the muzzle of a firearm pointed in a safe direction, even though the firearm's safety is engaged?
Gnom [1K]
The correct answer is B. The safety only prevents you from pulling the trigger, but does not stop the pin from striking the primer. For example, if you drop the firearm, the pin may hit the primer and fire the firearm. It is always responsible to keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction so that if this happens, no consequences come out of it.

Equation of orbit under central force
SOVA2 [1]

I found this on arxsiv.org: “The central force motion between two bodies about their center of mass can be reduced to an equivalent one body problem in terms of their reduced mass m and their relative radial distance r. ... The potential V (r) from which this force is derived is also a function of r alone, F = −VV, V ≡ V (r).”

A fish finder uses a sonar device that sends 20,000-Hz sound pulses downward from the bottom of the boat, and then detects echoe
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer: The minimum time between pulses (in fresh water)

= 0.3106 s

Explanation:

To calculate the speed of echoes sounds, we will use

Speed = 2x/t

Where x = distance and t = total time.

Please note that:

sound travels at 343 m/s in air. But it travels at 1,481 m/s in water (almost 4.3 times as fast as in air);

Total distance = 2 × 230 = 460m

Using speed of sound in water

1481 = 460/t

t = 460/1481

t = 0.3106

What did Bohr's model of the atom include that Rutherford's model did not have?
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

The correct option is energy levels

Explanation:

Rutherford's model of an atom suggests that an atom has a tiny positively charged central mass (now called the nucleus) which is surrounded by electrons (negatively charged) in a cloud-like manner.

Bohr's model went a bit further than the Rutherford's model in describing an atom by suggesting that the electrons which surrounds in the nucleus travel in fixed circular orbits. This description by Bohr was able to describe the energy levels of orbitals which assumes that smallest orbitals have the lowest energy while the largest orbitals have the highest energy.

Infrared radiation _____. has wavelengths that are shorter than visible light is part of the visible light spectrum has waveleng
iren [92.7K]

Answer: has wavelengths that are longer than visible light

Explanation: Electromagnetic spectra comprises of different electromagnetic waves which are arranged in order of increasing wavelengths or decreasing energies.

In order from highest to lowest energy, the waves are arranged as: gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet radiation, visible light, infrared radiation, and radio waves.

E=\frac{hc}{\lambda}

E= energy

h= planck's constant

c= velocity of light

\lambda = wavelength

As wavelength and energy are inversely related, the wave having higher wavelengths will be lowest in energy. Thus as infrared radiation have lower energy as compared to visible radiation. Thus infrared radiation have higher wavelength as compared to visible radiation.
