For the #2 it would be 3 because 50 goes into 138 2 times which will give you 100 with a remainder of 38. You can't leave behind the other 38 so you will bring another bus.

You plug the equation that equals y into the y value on the other equation that equals 4. Then, you plug the x value into the x on the equation that equals y. Sorry if that was confusing
When we have negative exponents, we can move the term with the exponent to the bottom of the fraction. This is also known as multiplying by the reciprocal (and changing the negative exponent to be positive!).
The reciprocal of z^-3 would be 1 / z^3.
