Which is one of the transformations applied to the graph of f(x) = x2 to change it into the graph of g(x) = 4x2 + 24x + 30?
WARRIOR [948]
Changing g(x) to this form: a(x-h) + k, we have:
g(x) = 4 (x+3)^2 - 6

Comparing this to the original equation, f(x) = x^2, we have the following transformations:

The graph is widened.
The graph is shifted left 3 units.

Para pintar 7.000 m2 se requieren 10 personas para que culminen su labor en 20 días. Sabiendo que para que la labor se realice
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

C. Correct, because for the work to be carried out in 5 days, 40 workers are required.

Step-by-step explanation:

The job requires 10 people to work for 20 days. That's 200 worker-days.

In other words,

days × workers = 200 or

workers = 200/days

To get the work done in five days,

workers = 200/5 = 40.

You must hire 40 workers.

B. and D. are wrong. To get the job done in seven days. you must hire 200/7 = 29 workers.

How do I use elimination for he equations 2x+10y=-20 and -x+4y=28?
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

Using the elimination method to solve for x and y; ANSWER: y=2 & x=-20

Step-by-step explanation:

1) It helps to visualize the equation if you put the second equation underneath the first like regular adding.

  (2x+10y= -20)

+ (-x+4y= 28)

____________

          ?

2) You always want to cancel out one value (x or y) to start the process.

In this case, if I can get a -2x to cancel out 2x (neg. and positive cancel), that would cancel out the x's in the two equation. To do that, I would multiply by 2 to the second equation and add like you would normally (like terms with like terms, x with x and y with y)

2x+10=-20   2(-x+4y=28) ---> 2x+10y= -20 plus -2x+8y=56 --->18y=36 (this is the final simplified outcome)

3) find y so y =36/18     so y =2

4) Plug y=2 back into one of the original equation and solve for x

2x+10(2)= -20 ---> x=-20
