regina bought fruit for her family. she bought 3 1/2 pounds of oranges and 4 and 3/4 pounds of peaches. if she used all bit 1 3/
jeka94
First, you would have to combine 3 1/2 and 4 3/4 pounds. That would be 8 and 1/4 lbs. If she used all but 1 3/8 lbs, you would have to do 8 1/4 minus 1 3/8. That means she used 7 1/8 lbs of fruit.

The equation would be 3/ 12 + 4 3/4 = 8 1/4 - 1/38 = 7 1/8.

Each peach costs $0.56 and the equations used to solve that is 4x= 2.24 where x is the cost of 1 peach.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

It is given that all the peaches weigh the same and that 4 peaches weigh 1 pound.

Assume that each peach costs x.

So the cost for 4 peaches is given by 4x.

Step 2:

The cost of 1 pound of peaches is given as $2.24.

1 pound of peaches=4x.

So 4x= 2.24, x = \frac{2.24}{4}.

x = 0.56.

So each peach costs $0.56.
