Answer:

Some of these tales that the people were telling about this mule after it was emancipated are how the mule was able to open the kitchen door, how it slept there and also how it caused a fight till they had to make coffee for it. Another tale that was going round was that Mrs. Pearson had mistakenly thought the mule was the Rev that she had to give it food. The people turned these lies about this animal into a trend. Everyone due to what they heard about the mule had to start lying just so they could get involved too with this famous animal. The mule capture their imaginations this way because of what it symbolizes to them. that is setting a tortured soul free.

Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

“In a country teetering on the brink of civil war, two young people meet—sensual, fiercely independent Nadia and gentle, restrained Saeed. They embark on a furtive love affair, and are soon cloistered in a premature intimacy by the unrest roiling their city. When it explodes, turning familiar streets into a patchwork of checkpoints and bomb blasts, they begin to hear whispers about doors—doors that can whisk people far away, if perilously and for a price. As the violence escalates, Nadia and Saeed decide that they no longer have a choice. Leaving their homeland and their old lives behind, they find a door and step through.” - publisher summary excerpt

Identify the type of clause in the sentence below rising college tuition costs which are becoming an increasing burden to studen
Valentin [98]

Answer:

The clause in the sentence is an adjective clause.

Explanation:

We have a complex sentence in "Rising college tuition costs, which are becoming an increasing burden to students and parents, need to be examined and adjusted." A complex sentence is formed by joining an independent clause and a dependent one.

The independent clause states a complete thought on its own. The independent clause, in this case, is "Rising college tuition costs need to be examined and adjusted."

The dependent or subordinate clause needs the independent clause to make sense. In this case, it is "which are becoming an increasing burden to students and parents." This clause functions as an adjective, providing more information about something mentioned in the main clause - the rising tuition costs. What we have here is, therefore, an adjective clause.
