1. People tend to overestimate the magnitude of war in all senses, in lives lost, in suffering created, even in economic costs. People are often clueless about this simply because they do not live the war directly in front of their eyes.

2. People tend to be clueless about the real causes of war, either due to patriotism, or to xenophobia, or to fanatism with some ideology or religion, people often assign higher values to war, instead of looking at the real reasons, that are always mainly economic, and also political in nature.
