Answer:

The three reasons why Grendel led a painful life are:

  1. Lived in swamplands.
  2. Celebration noises bothered him.
  3. Poor relationship with God.

Explanation:

'Beowulf' is an Old English epic poem; centered on the titular character, Beowulf. He is a warrior and heroic character in the epic.

Grendel is one of the monsters and antagonists that Beowulf crosses paths with. Grendel has led a painful life in epic. Grendel is a cursed descendant of Cain. This curse has led him to live a painful life in swamplands. He was easily bothered by the noises of celebrations. Another reason for his painful life is his poor relationship with God. The answer would be metaphor.

A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn’t literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.

Here are the basics:

A metaphor states that one thing is another thingIt equates those two things not because they actually are the same, but for the sake of comparison or symbolism.

If you take a metaphor literally, it will probably sound very strange (are there actually any sheep, black or otherwise, in your family?)

Metaphors are used in poetry, literature, and anytime someone wants to add some color to their language.

in at least 150 words, explain how richard wright use of dialogue in the short story "The Man Who Was Almost A Man" contributes
melomori [17]
Hello,
David is thinking about his quest for manhood, which he connects with owning a gun. Because he is “almost a man,” he believes that he should own the symbol of manhood: a gun. Borrowing a mail-order catalog from a local store owner so that he can look at the pictures of revolvers, David becomes obsessed with thoughts of guns, becoming a man, and, most important, the strategy that he must use to persuade his mother that he should be able to buy a gun. A real man doesn't need a gun.
