Answer:

A consumer may also eat other consumers as food. When producers and consumers die, the Decomposer will come along to decompose (break down) the bodies of the dead producers and consumers into smaller chemicals - in short treating them as a food source

The answers are yeast and penicillium.

Some yeasts are used in medicine, for example, some Saccharomyces species, Candida species, etc. They are used for the production of some amino acids, vitamins (C, B2), some proteins (insulin). Penicillium is used for production of antibiotics.

For three traits inherited in a dominant/recessive pattern, what is the probability of an offspring in a trihybrid cross between
AleksandrR [38]

Answer: For three traits inherited in a dominant/recessive pattern, the probability of an offspring in a trihybrid cross between parents heterozygous for all three traits to be recessive at exactly two of the three loci is 23/64.

Explanation: Let A, B and C represent the dominant alleles and a, b and c represent the recessive alleles. The genotype of each of the parent will be AaBbCc since it has been said to be heterozygous for all the three traits. There are eight (8) possible different types of gametes from each of the genotype. This can be calculated using 2^n where n is the number of heterozygous loci.

The number of heterozygous loci in the genotype AaBbCc is three (3). 2^3 = 8. The gametes are;

ABC

ABc

AbC

Abc

aBC

aBc

abC and

abc.

Therefore, sixty-four possible offsprings are expected from the cross AaBbCc x AaBbCc.

Out of these offsprings, twenty-three (23) are expected to be heterozygous at two loci as boldly shown in the attached image.

What does sustainability mean? please give examples too
satela [25.4K]
Hi there!

Sustainability means that something or someone has the ability to keep something going.

For example, a plant could have good life sustainability because it has a special poison, keeping predators away from it.

You could be self sustainable by growing your own crops, collecting your own water, and making things you need.

Hope this helps!

Before agriculture was developed people mostly were nomadic in nature. They moved from place to place in search of food. Some of them were groups of hunter gatherers as well. When agriculture started people also started to settle down in groups. This led to the development of civilization and in modern day cities and towns. The first agricultural practices were started beside the river banks due to the reason that the soil was very fertile and water for irrigation was also easily available.
