Think of it like this, if the government is able to find a way to make dealing with taxes easier for everyone, they would have done it by now. Tariffs are to protect newly established domestic industries from foreign competition. Our money helps protect our goods. If we lower or even eliminate taxes, we have more of a likely chance of something bad happening.
