To find,

Total no of snail shells used by the Jeweler.

Solution,

Let there are 5x snail shells and x shark shells.

According to question,

5x+x = 60

6x = 60

x = 10

Snail shell = 5x

= 5(10)

= 50

Hence, he uses 50 snail shells.
