Answer:

Explanation:

There is a small little hut on the island. You decide to see if anyone was home. You knock on the door. It slowly creaks open. Walking inside you find it is a one room building. All that's there is a chair. On the chair is a skeleton with a small slip of paper in its boney hand. You reach for the slip- BANG! The door snapped shut. Turning back you try pushing it back open, with all your weight pressed against it. The door doesn't budge. After a bit of pushing you sit down on the floor. Remembering the paper you snatch it from the skeleton. It has two little words scrawled on it; "Get Out."

Highlight all the words that make up the appositive phrase.
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

Before the parade, my friend Baby Luigi practiced his baton twirls.

Explanation:

An appositive is a noun or noun phrase placed next to another noun in order to explain or identify it. It's usually found after the noun it refers to, although it doesn't have to be. Depending on how essential it is, it can be framed by commas.

When the noun being explained is too general without the appositive, the appositive is considered essential to the meaning of the sentence. In this case, we shouldn't frame it by commas.

This is the case in the given sentence. The phrase Baby Luigi is the appositive that identifies the speaker's friend. If we left out that phrase, the sentence would be too vague.
