Two lines are intersecting. What is the value of x? Enter your answer in the box.
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

x = 19

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the value of x, you set the equations as equal to each other:

x+23 = 2x+4

Then you simplify:

23 = 2x + 4 - x\\23 = x + 4\\23-4 = x\\19=x

Based on the data set shown, which of the following is a true statement?
patriot [66]
The mean, median, and mode are equal to 1. So among the choices, the first one is correct - mean = mode

Mean - an <em>average </em>of the given set of number; to find this, add the numbers and divide it by 11 (the number of given data)
   = (-1 + -1 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 3) / 11
   = 1

Median - the <em>middle or center</em> of the given set; to find this, arrange the numbers in numerical order, then get the center or middle number as the median
   = <span>-1, -1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3
   = [</span><span>-1, -1, 0, 1, 1,] <u>1</u>, [1, 2, 2, 2, 3]

Mode - is the value that occurs most of the time in the given set; so obviously <em>number 1 occurred four times</em> so 1 is our mode

How would I do this?
Lelu [443]
I'm not sure about part B, but part A will have the answer "if Ron eats lunch today, then he will drink a glass of milk" (without quotes of course)

The idea is that we have these arguments in symbolic form
P = Ron eats lunch today
Q = Ron eats a sandwich
R = Ron will drink a glass of milk

The format is
"If P then Q" ----> "if Q then R"  so therefore "If P then R"

We see that P leads to Q, then Q leads to R. So overall P leads to R. We connect them as a chain of sorts. We can skip over Q since we know the first point will lead to the last. Think of it as a shortcut of sorts.

I'm having trouble with algebraic fractions . 3/2n-8/3=-29/12
nadezda [96]

what we can do is hmmmm get the LCD of all fractions, and multiply both sides by that LCD, let's see, we have denominators of 2, 3 and 12, so we can use the LCD of 12, and multiply both sides by 12 to do away with the denominators.

\bf \cfrac{3}{2}n-\cfrac{8}{3}=-\cfrac{29}{12}\implies \stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{12}}{12\left( \cfrac{3}{2}n-\cfrac{8}{3} \right)=12\left( -\cfrac{29}{12} \right)}\implies (6)3n-(4)8=(1)-29 \\\\\\ 18n-32=-29\implies 18n=3\implies n=\cfrac{3}{18}\implies n=\cfrac{1}{6}
