Ahat [919]

Answer: According to Brutus, they killed Caesar because he had too much power.

Explanation:

In Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, Brutus joins a group of conspirators who plot Caesar's murder. Although a friend of Caesar's, Brutus believes that Caesar is dangerous and will become a dictator of Rome. He strongly believes that it will be better for Rome to be governed by the senators than a single ruler. According to Brutus, he and the senators kill Caesar for the purpose of saving the Republic. However, it turns out that it is only Brutus that focuses on this goal. At the end of the play, Brutus confesses that it was harder for him to kill Caesar than to kill himself, which proves that he really had nothing against Caesar as a person: "Caesar, now be still. I killed not thee with half so good a will." The other men have other motives that have nothing to do with the good of Rome.

Explain how the use of specific poetic devices makes “Counting Small-boned Bodies” satirical.
marishachu [46]
"Counting Small-Boned Bodies" is a short poem of ten lines and, as its title suggests, plays upon official body counts of dead Vietnamese soldiers. The poem's first line, "Let's count the bodies over again," is followed by three tercets, each of which begins with the same line: "If we could only make the bodies smaller." That condition granted, Bly postulates three successive images: a plain of skulls in the moonlight, the bodies "in front of us on a desk," and a body fit into a finger ring which would be, in the poem's last words, "a keepsake forever." One notes in this that Bly uses imagery not unlike that of the pre-Vietnam poems, especially in the image of the moonlit plain.
