A=bh, for b (an area formula)
Katyanochek1 [597]
If you are trying to make B the subject, you have to divide both sides by 'h' because  we need to get rid if 'h' to get 'b' on it's own, and you do the opposite of times - which is to divide. Once you divide both sides by h, you should end up with this:

A/h=b

Nora jogs 4 1/4miles on Monday. She jogs 1 1/2 fewer miles on Tuesday. Write and evaluate an addition expression to find how man
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

Equation: 4 1/4 + 1 3/4

Evaluation: 5 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

So, Nora jobs 4 1/4 miles on Monday, which is 1 1/2 miles fewer than on Tuesday.

If this was 1.5 fewer miles, we need to add 1 1/2 and 4 1/4  to get our answer

We change the denominator on 1 1/2 to be 4. So, we multiply both sides by 2 and get 1 2/4

4 1/4 + 1 2/4 = 5 3/4

Which property can you apply to Hayley's expression to show that it is equivalent to Gretchens expression?
omeli [17]

Answer: Distributive property of the multiplication.

Step-by-step explanation:

You did not post Gretchen's expression, but i gues that it is 3*(x + y)

I guess that it is the distributive property of the multiplication.

For 3 numbers, A, B and C, we have that:

A*(B + C) = A*B + A*C

here we have:

3*x + 3*y

We can do the inverse process to the distributive property, and get:

3*x + 3*y = 3*(x + y)

which i guess is Gretchen's expression.
