Remeber that a narrative elipsis refers to a literary device used by writers to omit parts of a sentence or an event. The reader has to fill those narrative gaps with their imagination. By doing this, the author can save time and advance on the story; usually the events omitted can be inferred by the audience. In this case, the writer omits the conversation as the important thing is how it affected the character, not it's content itself.

Well to be honest, of the Military forces attacking Isis is dangerous and so is not doing it. I would say attacking Isis is 95% better than not because what if people ended up getting injured again.
