The threats experienced by Hrothgar after Hrothulf’s arrival is the fact that there are too many heirs around, and which brings about a feeling and atmosphere of increased competition and rivalry. Hrothulf is similar to the scorpion due to the fact that he is a loner for the most part, and has poisonous mentalities.
