The heroic qualities Odysseus uses to overcome the Lotus Eaters is strength when he dragged and tied them to the ship. He also shows leadership when giving his men orders to row out.

The Lotus Eaters showed Odysseus and his crew no harm, and instead, offered them sweet lotus. Those who ate the Lotus longed to stay forever.
