Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

The transformation of g(x) to k(x) consists in a vertical translation. The new equation is k(x) = -12\cdot x-6.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let g(x) = -12\cdot x - 3. We proceed to make the required transformations on g(x), which consists in one vertical translation, 3 units in the -y direction. That is to say:

k(x) = g(x) - 3 (1)

k(x) = (-12\cdot x - 3) - 3

k(x) = -12\cdot x-6

Then, the transformation of g(x) to k(x) consists in a vertical translation. The new equation is k(x) = -12\cdot x-6.

-15x=-4x... How to move the x to the left?
Delvig [45]
-15x=-4x

We know that adding zero wouldn’t change the value

-15x=-4x+0

Now we can add 4x (since that’s the opposite of the negative sign) to the other side

-11x=0

0 divided by 11 is 0

x=0

The length of fencing required for a rectangular garden in terms of its width, x, if it’s length is 2 units more than 1.5 times
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

5x+4 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the width of rectangle.

We have been given that the length of garden is 2 units more than 1.5 times it’s width. So length of the rectangle will be: 1.5x+2.

To find the length of total fencing we need to figure out perimeter of rectangle with width x and length 1.5x+2.

Since we know that perimeter of a rectangle is two times the sum of its length and width.

\text{Perimeter of rectangle}=2(\text{Length+Width})

Upon substituting length and width of garden in above formula we will get,

\text{Perimeter of rectangular garden}=2(1.5x+2+x)

\text{Perimeter of rectangular garden}=2(2.5x+2)

Upon using distributive property we will get,

\text{Perimeter of rectangular garden}=2*2.5x+2*2

\text{Perimeter of rectangular garden}=5x+4

Therefore, the length of required fencing will be 5x+4 units.

Factor the following. ( Correct and best explained answer gets brainliest :)
Fittoniya [83]
The answer is (x - 10)(x - 9).

Alright, so here is my thought process as I factored this out.

The middle number, or second term, is the sum of the numbers within the parentheses after you factor. In this case, we had to get to -19.

Now, to figure out which two number are gonna add up to that, you need to figure out the factors of the last number in the equation, which is the constant. In this case, multiple choice tells us that 10 and 9 have got to be the factors of 90 we're looking for.

Now, back to the first step. We have the numbers 10, 9, and -19. The only way to make 10 and 9 add up to -19 is by making 10 and 9 both negative. So -9 and - 10.

Finally, you add the x's and the parentheses to make the lovely factored version of the equation: (x - 10)(x - 9)! :)
