The blueprint (a scale drawing used by architects and others) for Zahra’s new office measures `4` cm long and `2` cm wide. The s
Dimas [21]

Using scale concepts, it is found that the length of her office is of 10 ft, while the width is of 5 ft.

------------------------

 • The scale of 6 cm to 15 ft means that each 6 cm in the drawing represent 15 ft in actual dimensions.
 • From this, a rule of three is applied to find the dimensions.

First, we find the actual length:

6 cm - 15 ft

4 cm - x ft

6x = 60

x = \frac{60}{6}

x = 10

The actual length is of 10 ft.

Then, we find the actual width:

6 cm - 15 ft

2 cm - x ft

6x = 30

x = \frac{30}{6}

x = 5

The actual width is of 5 ft.

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use this equation.can someone help me and explain?
masha68 [24]
So QRS equals to 158 degrees. Therefore, you need to do 8x+8+2x=158. This is so then you can find x. In order to find x, you'll need to combine the 2x and 8x(10x+2=158). Then subtract 2 from both sides(10x=156). Finally divide by 10(x=15.6). In order to find TRS, multiply 15.6 by 2 to get the angle measure. If you want to find QRT, plug 15.6 into the equation(multiply 8 and 15.6 and add 8=132.8)

Using new equipment, a worker finished 4 more parts in an hour than was planned and fulfilled his daily task not in 8 hours, but
UNO [17]
Let the planned number of parts per hour = x
Then the planned number of parts for the day = 8x
By finishing 4 more parts in an hour than was planned (x + 4) he fulfilled his daily task in 6 hours.
So he finished 6(x + 4) parts that day.
6(x + 4) = 8x
6x + 24 = 8x
2x = 24

In Your own words, explain the place-value relationship when the same two digits are next to each other in a multi-digit number
Leno4ka [110]
When 2 digits are next to each other, the place value relationships of both numbers are 10 times greater. Why because in a place value of ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, hundred thousands, etc. The value of ones multiplied by 10 is equals to tens. The value of tens multiply by 10 is equals to hundreds. The value of hundreds multiply by 10 is equals to thousands and the value of thousands multiply by 10 is equals to hundred thousand.
