Answer:

x^2+ 18x -130=0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment for diagram

Required

The equation to find x

First, calculate the area of the big rectangle using:

Area = Length * Width

So:

A_1 = (x + 6) * (3x - 2)

The smaller rectangle

A_2 = (x - 1) * (2x)

The difference between this areas give the area of the shaded region.

So:

A_1 - A_1 = 118

(x+6)*(3x-2) - (x-1)*2x = 118

Open brackets

3x^2 - 2x + 18x -12 -2x^2 +2x = 118

Collect like terms

3x^2 -2x^2- 2x +2x+ 18x -12   - 118=0

x^2+ 18x -130=0

<em>The above equation can be used to solve for x</em>

The thousands place value is the fourth digit (number) to the left of the decimal point. If the decimal point is not present, it goes to the right of the digit at the end of the number. So 4 over from that is the starting number, 4. So there are 4 thousands in the thousands place

What is x in this equation- 3/2x-7=-11
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

3/2x-7=-11

We move all terms to the left:

3/2x-7-(-11)=0

Domain of the equation: 2x!=0

x!=0/2

x!=0

x∈R

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

3/2x+4=0

We multiply all the terms by the denominator

4*2x+3=0

Wy multiply elements

8x+3=0

We move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right

8x=-3

x=-3/8

x=-3/8

Factorise a.x3+4.a.x
Contact [7]

Answer:

{ax}^{3}  + 4ax \\

factorise out a and x :

{ \boxed{answer{= ax( {x}^{2}  + 4) }}}\\ but \: farther \: more :  \\  = ax( {x}^{2}  +  {2}^{2} )

but from general factorization:

{ \boxed{( {a}^{2} +  {b}^{2}) =  {(a + b)}^{2}   - 2ab }}

a » x

b » 2

therefore:

= ax \{ {(x + 2)}^{2}  - 2(x)(2) \} \\  \\  = { \boxed{ \boxed{ax( {x + 2)}^{2} - 4x }}}

HELP PLEASE and show work

Answer:

\boxed{\stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQS}\:= 222°}

Explanation:

Since \overline{PR} is a diameter, arc \stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQR}\:= 180°.

Given that \angle{SUR} = 42° is a subtended central angle by two diameters,

\stackrel{\large\frown}{RS} \:= 42°.

Using the rule of arcs, \stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQR} + \stackrel{\large\frown}{RS} \: = \: \stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQS} →

180° + \: 42° = \: \stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQS}

222° = \: \stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQS}

\stackrel{\Large\frown}{PQS} \: = \: 222°
