Answer:

2. December 21

3. They move faster.

Explanation:

2. The midnight sun or polar day is a natural phenomenon observable in the north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle, consisting of that, on dates close to the summer solstice, the Sun is visible 24 hours a day.

3. The energy makes the air particles move faster, they collide with others that are at a lower temperature, that move more slowly. As they collide, fast particles yield some of their energy to slower ones. These in turn collide with other adjacent particles. This process continues until the energy is extended to all the particles of the air that was initially at a lower temperature. Finally they all reach the same kinetic energy and consequently the same temperature.

The Antarctic Circle has 24 hours of daylight around the summer solstice. In the southern hemisphere this would be around December 21.

When energy is transferred to air the particles of air move faster. Adding energy to molecules makes them move faster and air is no exception.

Compare the light and dark reactions that occur in plants.
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

The light reactions occur when light is absorbed by the chlorophyll in plants. ... Water splits, producing oxygen gas which is released through the stomata on plant leaves. The dark reactions occur in the stroma of the chloroplasts when carbon dioxide is converted to sugar using energy derived from ATP and NADPH.

cell organelles In this lab, you will try to view as many cell organelles as you can at different magnification levels. Write an
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

What is the effect of power/magnification on the frequency and size of organelles under a microscope?

Explanation:

Organelles within the cell are responsible for carrying out various functions. Some cells are more specialized than others, and may have particular organelles at a higher frequency, or showing a variation in size; sub-cellular structures become more visible at higher magnifications under the microscope.

Hypotheses:

 • organelle A's frequency decreases while B's frequency increases at higher magnifications
 • organelle A's size increases while B's size decreases at higher magnifications

Dependent variables: size and frequency cell organelles

Independent variable: power/magnification at low (x4), medium(x10) and high (x40)

Controlled variables: Type of organelles, microscope used, cell examined,

Method:

1. Examine the organelles A and B in a cell mounted on a slide; use the fine adjustment to focus on the cell.

 • Frequency: What is the average number of organelle A versus B, seen at low (x4), medium (x10) and high (x40) magnifications?
 • Size: Measure the average diameter of organelle A versus B using an ocular micrometer at low, medium and high magnification.

2. Record and tabulate observations.
