An "anatomical region" shows which organs are located on a specific region of the body. For example, the human body is divided into two parts: axial and appendicular. The<em> "axial" </em>consists of the <u><em>head and neck</em></u>,<em><u> thorax</u></em> and <u><em>abdomen </em></u>while the<em> "appendicular"</em> consists of the<u><em> upper extremities</em></u> and the <em><u>lower extremities.</u></em> It provide a<u> landmark</u> on where the organs of the body can be easily located.
