You are exploring a rather inhospitable planet, which has seas that are somewhat hydrophobic in nature. Surprisingly, there are

living organisms in the seas whose cytoplasm is hydrophobic to a similar degree. These organisms have membranes made primarily of phospholipids arranged in a bilayer. What is the most probable orientation of these phospholipids A.hydrophobic tails facing towards the middle of the bilayer and the hydrophylic heads facing outward

Answer:

The correct answer would be: hydrophilic heads of the phospholipids face toward the middle of the bilayer with the hydrophobic fatty acid tails facing outward

Explanation:

In normal cases on earth, the lipid bilayer is arranged in a way that the hydrophilic head is present both inside and outside whereas the hydrophobic tail is present in the middle.

But in this case, the seas shows hydrophobic nature it can be predicted that the living organism whose cytoplasm is hydrophobic to the same condition that to interact with the environment the phospholipids bilayer arranged as the polar heads on middle while hydrophilic head on its inside and outside

World War II was one of / if not the biggest tragedy to happen in modern history. It taught the world important lessons about society; that we need to work together and not let our differences enable another global conflict to the degree of WW2. However, history never completely repeats itself and while WW2 was a terrible and unimaginable tragedy, it provided us with information that can help us all in avoiding a future conflict similar in nature. However, how is the author so certain that history doesn't repeat itself? Have we not seen history do such thing. For example, there were vaccination protests all throughout history just like how there is vaccination protest today. So, I am interested in how the author came to his conclusion that WW2 will not inevitably repeat itself.

vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

The physical space between the presynaptic and postsynaptic neurons is called the  synaptic cleft

and the chemical that is released to signal across this space is called a neurotransmitter

Explanation:

A synapse is the junction between dendrites of two adjacent neurons. Its function is to allow the transmission of nerve impulses from neurone to neurone. Tn the presynaptic knob there are vesicles which contain a transmitter substance which is usually acetylcholine. The acetylcholine diffuses from the presynaptic membrane to the postsynaptic membrane.
