I think it’s positive. As it gets heavier, the cost has a positive slope, or increases. I’m not absolutely sure though

What is 5 7/8 minus 11/4
aksik [14]
First you need to simplify it so

5 7/8 = 5x8=40  40+7=47 so at the moment you have 47/8
then do
11/4 is fine so find the common denominator
in this case its 8 so   4x2=8 and then 11x2=22 so you have 47/8-22/8
which = 25/8 then you simplify and you get <em><u>3 1/8</u></em>

Find the area.<br> 5cm<br> 3cm<br> 4 cm
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

6 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Since 3 side lengths are given, I assume that this figure is a triangle. The area of a triangle can be determined by using hero's formula.

\text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

⇒ s = Perimeter/2

⇒ a, b, and c = side lenths of triangle

<u>Replacing a, b, and c as the given side lengths:</u>

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{s(s - 5)(s - 3)(s - 4)}

<u>Determining the perimeter of the triangle:</u>

\text{Perimeter of triangle = Sum of it's side lengths}

\implies \text{Perimeter of triangle =}\ 5 + 4 + 3

\implies \text{Perimeter of triangle =}\ 12 \ \text{cm}

<u>Determining the half of perimeter:</u>

\text{Half of perimeter} = s = \dfrac{\text{Perimeter}}{2}

\implies s = \dfrac{12}{2}

\implies s = 6

<u>Replacing the value of "s" in the formula:</u>

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{6(6 - 5)(6 - 3)(6 - 4)}

<u>Evaluating the area:</u>

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{6(6 - 5)(6 - 3)(6 - 4)}

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{6(1)(3)(2)}

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = \sqrt{\text{6(6)}

\implies \text{Area of triangle} = 6 \ \text{cm}^{2}

Solve the simultaneous equations:<br><br> 5x + 3y = 9<br> 7x - 2y = 25<br><br> x=__<br> y=__
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

x= 3, y= -2

Step-by-step explanation:

5x+3y= 9

x= 25÷7 + 2÷7 y

5(25÷7 +2÷7 y)

5( 25÷7 +2÷7 y ) + 3y= 9

y= -2

x= 25÷7 + 2÷7 x (-2)

x= 3
