Answer:

first collects 17, second 34 and third 29

Step-by-step explanation:

Total amount to be shared = 80.00

If first person received x

second received y

Third received z

If the second will have twice as much as the first, then;

y = 2x

x = y/2

If the third will have P. 5.00 less than the second, then

z = y-5

y = z+5

Substitute both equation in original equation

x+y+z = 80

y/2 + y + y-5 = 80

y + 2y + 2y -10 = 160

5y = 160+10

5y = 170

y = 170/5

y = 34

x = y/2

x = 34/2

x = 17

z = y - 5

z = 34-5

z = 29

Hence the first collects 17, second 34 and third 29

Use the polar representation to write the following in the form a + bi (a) (-1+ i)^7 (b) (1+v3i)^10
ira [324]

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

For any complex number x+iy the polar form is represented as

z=re^{i\theta }

where

r^{2}=x^2+y^2\\\\tan(\theta )=\frac{y}{x}

Part a) x+iy = -1+i

Thus r=\sqrt{-1^2+1^2}=\sqrt{2}\\\\  \theta _{1}=tan^{-1}(\frac{-1}{1})=\frac{-\pi }{4}

Thus using De-Morvier's theorem

(-1+i)^7=(\sqrt{2}e^{i\frac{-\pi }{4}})^7\\\\\therefore (-1+i)^7=2^{7/2}\cdot e^{\frac{i-\pi }{28}}

Part 2) x+iy = 1+3i

Thus r=\sqrt{1^2+3^2}=\sqrt{10}\\\\  \theta _{1}=tan^{-1}(\frac{3}{1})=1.25

Thus using De-Morvier's theorem

(1+3i)^{10}=(\sqrt{10}e^{1.25i})^{10}\\\\\therefore (1+3i)^{10}=10^{5}\cdot e^{12.5i}

A fruit stand has to decide what to charge for their produce. They need $5 for 1 Apple and 1 orange. They also need $15 for 3 ap
lakkis [162]

Answer:

x + y = 5

3x + 3y = 15

Step-by-step explanation:

let x represent apple and y represent orange

Hence x + y = 5

and 3x + 3y = 15

Solving both equations simutaneously

From first equation, x = 5-y

Substitute x=5-y into the second equation

3(5-y)+3y = 15

y= 0

x = 5-0 = 5
